Novak Djokovic has been dragged into the Russian protest row at the Australian Open following his father, Srdjan Djokovic, was filmed standing with pro-Vladimir Putin demonstrators this morning. Srdjan is read declaring, ‘Long Stay Russia’ in Serbian in the shocking clip from Melbourne.
On Wednesday, a team of pro-Russia fans collected outdoors the Rod Laver Arena and Margaret Court Arena.
They ended up proudly chanting, ‘Russia, Serbia’ right after Djokovic cruised into the semi-finals with a straight sets win from Andrey Rublev.
This morning, Victoria Law enforcement questioned four Australian Open website visitors, one particular proudly keeping a Russian flag with President Putin’s face on it, right after allegedly threatening safety at Melbourne Park.
And Srdjan has seemingly been noticed in a movie, standing with the protestors prior to stating, ‘Long Reside Russia’ and walking away.
