Local entrepreneurs set to gather for Flint Small Business Saturday – MLive.com

FLINT, MI – Some of the top entrepreneurs in the area will be under one roof on Saturday, Nov. 26.

I’m Building Something Consulting, LLC will celebrate the 6th annual “Flint Small Business Saturday” at 460 West Atherton Rd. in Flint’s Word of Life Christian Church from noon to 5 p.m.

The event hopes to encourage small business activation in Flint on the biggest shopping weekend of the year, according to Ebonie Gibson, owner of I’m Building Something Consulting.

“I think it’s imperative for our community to show up,” Gibson told MLive-The Flint Journal. “This is a very interesting year from an industry and economic perspective because we’ve got financial hardships and inflation.”

Started in 2017 by Gibson, the small business event has become huge, and it’s expected to have over 4,000 people walk through the doors.

“We hope our community members will make a commitment to shopping local and supporting this weekend,” Gibson said. “Our businesses are depending on it.”

Every year, this event helps to provide the space and platform for business owners to showcase their products and also keeps the dollars circulating locally.

“It allows me to bring in my years of expertise in retail right to the heart of my community,” Gibson said. “We call it a community marketplace because you’re doing business with your neighbors, with your community and keeping the dollars right here in the city.”
